N-Jay.52, a rapper who hails from Engcobo but is currently based in Cape Town, is looking to make a name for himself in the Cape of Good Hope. In an interview he at the Headwarmerz Hiphop Show we learnt that he spent a good year hustling this hiphop thing in PE. After a year he decided to move on to CPT for a number of reasons and one of them being that he felt CPT held better opportunities for him.
Since N-Jay dropped ‘From Me’, mid 2016, he has been a problem. He later went on to drop his full length project titled ‘Bipolar’. For this project we have watched him go all out to market it, from his performances at Black Saturday, CPT’s monthly get together, and other spots around CPT to his interviews. He also done a great job documenting his every move on his social media, so even if you not in the same city, you are still in the loop.
N-Jay has not stopped there in his efforts to push his project. In walks Motion Billy… Yes, N-Jay has teamed up with Cape Town and arguable South Africa’s next Director X a.k.a music video genius!
Motion Billy is no stranger to us at The Blacksmithed, we first came across his work when he worked with Capitol A – Mission Statement. He has not had a single miss since then. The N-Jay52 x Motion Billy connection came as a pleasant surprise. N-Jay has definitely came into the new season swinging. He’s coming for everything.
Watch ‘For The City’ music video ft. Adina and its produced by none other than EC’s super producer John A. The YouTube description says “The visuals don’t tell a specific story but rather showcase a wrinkled part of the city, a lost paradise.” Let us know what you think.
